10 Film Simulation Lut files & Lightroom Profiles
Note: When I created these simulations, I made the conscious choice to not include ANY film grain. Personally, I often like the look of a specific film but not like the grain and, it’s so easy to add grain after the profile or LUT is applied, that I thought it better to not include any grain. Look below* for instructions on how to add the grain yourself.
Also Note: The Lightroom Film Simulation Profiles and the Film Simulation LUTs are identical. The Lightroom Profiles will work in Lightroom and Adobe Camera RAW. The LUTs will work in any application that works with 3d LUTs.
Film Simulation Lightroom Profiles
***IMPORTANT – PROFILES ONLY WORK WITH LIGHTROOM VERSION 7.3 ON UP***
(The work great in the Current Version of Lightroom CC)
***PROFILES DO NOT WORK WITH EARLIER VERSIONS OF LIGHTROOM***

*To add grain to your profiles, first load the profile, then in Lightroom, go to the Effects tab that is in the Develop module. The bottom three (3) Sliders will add and effect the grain.
*To add grain to a LUT in photoshop, before loading the LUT, go to the top Filter menu and down to Camera RAW. Click on the FX tab on the right. The top three (3) sliders will add and effect the grain. After you add the grain, click the Done button that is in the lower right corner of Camera RAW then, once your image, with grain, is back in Photoshop, add the LUT.
*If you’re using the LUT in an application other than Photoshop, most every application I’ve used has the ability to add grain, Google how to do it for your specific application.
